Purr-fect Fence vs. Other Cat Fence Alternatives

1. Underground or invisible cat fence products:

Underground, electronic cat fence devices use a wire buried around your garden to emit a radio frequency of a limited range. The sound signals to the pet that a shock will follow. This product, although effective for some dogs, is not suited as a cat fence.

To use an electronic cat fence, your cat is required to wear a special shock-emitting collar and must undergo training to learn not to approach the "radio broadcast area."  Cats and dogs, despite receiving a shock, may leave the yard if something beyond the fence is enticing enough to them. And, when they re-enter the yard, they will be punished by receiving another shock.

Purr-fect Fence is a virtually invisible cat fence system that is installed above ground. Unlike electronic/underground “invisible” cat fence type products, Purr-fect Fence makes no use of electricity/shocking of your cat to keep your pet within a designated area.

2. Conventional Fence – adapted for a cat:

A wide variety of fence materials exist on the market, and many have been adapted for use as a cat fence. Since most any cat can climb or jump, an effective cat fence must be at least 6' high and also have an escape proof top of some sort. There are products available that are utilised to retro-fit the tops of existing fences, but if no fence is in place, then the product's requirement is that an expensive conventional fence constructed from steel, wood, or vinyl must first be installed.

3. Cat “Runs” or Cat “Cages”

These products are not a cat fence in the sense that they only offer your cat a very limited amount of space to move about in. They are also certainly not invisible in nature, and are often times quite unattractive and can be expensive.

When considering an outdoor cat fence, the true outdoor experience for you cat is best and most easily created with Benner's Purr-fect Fence…Keeping thousands of cats happy, healthy, & safe.
